David’s storytelling sessions were a regular highlight for people of all ages. He is particularly fondly remembered for his skills in encouraging the younger children to take the limelight and tell their own stories, and his gentle presence brought a very special quality to our Dance Camp.

With his stories and his drum, David skilfully plucks our hearts and plumbs the emotions, connecting us to the eternal process of love and laughter, tears and fears, so that they become our own.

The children spent an idyllic morning in the woods, summoned to the storyteller by the beat of his drum which could be heard echoing throughout the forest. Each group were fascinated by David and his stories and were thrilled to be able to join in and influence the progression of the story. Adults and children returned to school refreshed and inspired.

We would like to thank you very much for a wonderful evening. A Candlelit supper with stories always promised to be atmospheric. The experience will remain with all of us for a very long time. My favourites were the jewish tailor and the crane feast. It was refreshing and enchanting to hear traditional tales that did not become bound by modern structure and limitations for stories.
